LottoData.org is an independent tool for exploring historical US lottery results. This page explains what our numbers measure, where results come from and how to interpret the tables.
Our importers use official game results and New York State open data for Powerball and Mega Millions. Lotto America imports use official Powerball/MUSL results, with a third-party LottoAmerica.com fallback. Availability can vary; the archive date shown on each page identifies the latest result included.
We select the most recent draws in the stated window and count appearances of each number. Main balls and the special ball are counted separately. A number appearing in 5 of 25 draws has a draw frequency of 20%. This is the share of past draws containing that number, not its chance of winning a future prize. Since multiple main balls appear in every draw, their percentages do not sum to 100%.
Always read the period and number of draws next to a table. Most Common public tables use up to 25 recent draws; other statistics views label their own windows. Hot means most frequent and cold means least frequent within that sample. Tied counts are ordered by number. Lists can differ when their periods differ.
For current-format Mega Ball frequency in the server tables, we count only draws from April 8, 2025 onward, when the special-ball pool changed to 1–24. Older draws remain in the results archive. If fewer comparable draws are available, the table uses and reports the smaller special-ball sample.
Imports and cached pages can update at different times. Use the latest archive date rather than assuming a newly completed draw is already included. The displayed archive is a bounded collection of recent history, not a promise of every draw since a game began. Lottery draws are random and independent; past frequency does not improve future odds.
Check tickets, prizes and current game rules with the official lottery. LottoData is not an official ticket-validation service. If you find a discrepancy, email the page URL, game and draw date to support@lottodata.org.
