Powerball odds describe how likely it is to win each prize. Powerball asks you to match five white balls drawn from 1–69 plus one red Powerball drawn from 1–26. Because there are so many possible combinations, the odds of winning the jackpot are very long — and no app, system, or prediction tool can change them.
The published overall odds of winning any Powerball prize are roughly 1 in 25, and the odds of winning the grand prize jackpot are about 1 in 292.2 million. Lower-tier prizes (for matching fewer numbers, or just the Powerball) have much better odds than the jackpot, but the jackpot itself remains extremely unlikely on any single ticket. Jackpot odds come from counting every possible combination of five white balls (chosen from 69) multiplied by the number of choices for the red Powerball (26). There are 11,238,513 ways to pick the five white balls, and multiplying by the 26 Powerball options gives about 292.2 million equally likely combinations — so a single ticket has one chance in roughly 292.2 million of being the exact match.
